Background
With the large-scale deployment of 5G base stations, the transmit and receive channels inside the base stations have become dense, highlighting issues of signal crosstalk and reflection, which places extremely high demands on the performance and reliability of RF circulators and isolators.
Challenges
· Base station AAUs (Active Antenna Units) need to integrate multi-channel transmit and receive functions in a limited space, requiring circulators/isolators to be miniaturized, low insertion loss, and high isolation.
· Traditional devices experience reduced isolation under wide temperature (-40℃ to 115℃) and high power conditions, resulting in degraded reception sensitivity.
· Stringent requirements on suppliers' delivery capabilities and batch consistency.
Solutions
Nexinbo customized the development of miniaturized surface-mount isolators and low intermodulation circulators for customers:
· Size reduced by 20% compared to industry standards, meeting the compact layout of AAUs.
· Isolation ≥ 23 dB, insertion loss ≤ 0.25 dB, PIM (Passive Intermodulation) ≤ -70 dBc.
Results
· Successfully introduced into multiple 5G base station platforms (such as 64T64R, 32T32R), becoming a core supplier.
· Helped improve the overall sensitivity of base stations and reduce on-site dropout rates.
